Cardiff, Europe’s youngest capital is situated in South Wales and is easy to reach from anywhere in the UK or overseas. Just 2 hours away from the centre of London by rail and only 2 hours’ drive away from Heathrow, Cardiff is accessible whether you plan to get here by car, plane, bus, ferry or train.
By Air
Cardiff is served by its own international airport with regular direct flights from the U.K. and other European destinations. Located 12 miles west of Cardiff city centre, Cardiff Airport is easy to access and handles over 2 million passengers a year. Bristol International Airport is only 1 hour away, with Continental Airlines flying direct from the States as well as EasyJet’s lowcost airline providing flights to and from Europe, including Germany, and within the UK.
By Bus
Bus and coach travel are very cheap and convenient ways to get to and around Cardiff. There are direct coach routes from the UK’s main international airports (e.g. London Heathrow) and London Victoria station to Cardiff Central Station by National Express.
By Rail
High-speed InterCity trains link most cities around the country with Cardiff. The journey time from London Paddington to Cardiff is under two hours and trains leave every 30 minutes during the day.
