Capital for shopping
Cardiff's compact and pedestrianised city centre is one of the most attractive and successful shopping centres in Britain. The city has an unrivalled number of Victorian arcades containing designer boutiques and unique shops.

When the shops close the pubs and nightclubs take over the City Centre. The city’s social atmosphere and high student numbers means there are always people visiting bars and clubs throughout the week - but the weekends are busiest! Cardiff attracts a lot of weekend visitors, especially from groups celebrating weddings to come (affectionately known as hen & stag nights).

Cardiff’s authorities are excellent at managing the city’s nightlife. Regular events in the Millennium stadium bring up to 100,000 people to the city centre in a single day!
