    UWIC

    In September 2003, The Sunday Times ranked UWIC as the leading new university in Wales for the fourth year running, they wrote:

    "UWIC has consistently been among the best-performing modern universities in the UK . . . where students acquire skills that make them consistently among the most employable graduates".

    Cardiff University

    This year Cardiff University and the University of Wales College of Medicine (UWCM) joined to form one institution. With 5,000 staff and 22,000 students, the merged Cardiff University will be the largest university in Wales.

    Cost of Living

    Cardiff is well established as an affordable city in which to live and study. The British Tourist Authority (BTA) has identified Cardiff as the most affordable capital city to visit for the last nine years.

    The Virgin 2003 Guide to Universities found that Cardiff had the lowest cost of living of any university city. This survey compares 16 capital cities around the world and includes such items as accommodation, travel, food, entertainment, shopping and services.
